  • inspired by the shapes of antique turned wooden stools, headboards and banisters seen during my travels in europe.

  • produced with asili, who are bridging the gap between design and traditional african crafts.

each set of servers are hand carved from jacaranda wood by a fairtrade certified co-operative in nairobi. the jacaranda pieces are finished using a traditional process of smoking the wood over fire to achieve it’s deep rich colour, it is then oiled to finish for a beautiful buttery hand feel.

  • jacaranda is a fast growing wood, the pieces used to create these servers are sustainably sourced, making use of offcuts from larger carving projects.

do not soak in water, wash with a soft sponge and gentle soap, dry thoroughly after cleaning. after extended use, rehydrate the wood using a food safe wood oil. store in a dry place.

due to this being a natural material, subtle variation of colour between each piece may occur and is to be expected.

  • 35 x 7 cm

as this is a handmade item dimensions may vary subtly
